Lily's family left Summer Lake when she went away to college. She tried to make her way in their world, but money and status didn't mean much to her. After calling off her engagement and giving up her career, Lily's back at the lake. She's finally happy. She has a life she loves, and she's pursuing her passion running the riding stables. There may not be any other kind of passion in her life, but that's okay, or it would be if it weren't for Nate. Nate's her friend. Nate sleeps around. Nate is most definitely not the guy she should want to get passionate with, but, unfortunately, he is.
Nate's enjoying life in Summer Lake, too. His boss, Pete, may have warned him off the local women, but that's okay, there are plenty of fresh tourists every weekend to keep him busy. SJ McCoy is a brillant writer who knows how to hook you right from the very start. All of her characters are all amazing, very likable, and believable. She makes you feel like you want to move there and join in the fun with the gang. I will keep reading her books, as long as she keeps writing them, whether it's 3 more books, or 60 more....I will be here until the very end..I have been following both this series and the "Remington series" very faithfully. But....for some reason I had a really hard time waiting for this book to come out. In all fairness; it probably wasn't all that long in the grand scheme of things, but to someone like me----who's been waiting with bated breath---it felt like forever. I ususally devour these books the minute I get them into my greedy little hands, and then I'm sad when the story ends. Not because the story itself was sad, or because the stories weren't any good. No....I was sad because I knew I'd have to wait a while to revisit my friends again. Which is why I took my time reading this book. I wanted to savor every single minute of it.....and really make it last. This time I really soak it all in, and tried to enjoy my friends and family at the lake for as long as I could.
Some would say; '' Why don't you just read them all over again, until the next book comes out?" Believe me I do that too, and I enjoy them just as much as I did the first time around, but it just doesn't seem to quench my thirst like reading a brand new story.
It was so much fun watching Nate and Lily dancing around their feelings for one another, while the whole summer lake gang watches from the sidelines. There were a few skeptic's in the group, though. Although their doubts had nothing to do with Lily. Their doubts were brought on by Nate's past history as a major womanizer that they didn't trust. This is a beautiful story of taking chances; one you definitely won't want to miss.
It was great catching up with the residents at Summer Lake, but I always find myself cracking up when it comes to Missy & Megan. Those two are real live-wires, when it comes to something or someone they love, or feel like they need to protect. Their poor husbands sure have their hands full with those two, for sure. I can't wait to see the day Megan finally goes into labor, that ought to be a real hoot and a half!!! I see Ben's story is next....oh boy...I've been waiting for that one since the series started!!! Chance is another very complex character I'm waiting to read about. He's Missy's brother who teeters back and forth between the two series, and I can't wait to read his story, too.
If you haven't started reading this series, yet, you really have no idea what your missing out on. Every single book in this series is fantastic!!! They will make you laugh, cry, and jump for joy.

Well, once again a 5 star read! I have enjoyed all of these books in this series. They are all great reads! You must read them! I can not wait to get to the next box. When I am done, I will most likely read them again!!!!!!
I love the whole Summer Lake series and this book was just as good as the others. I loved characters and the story. Put this book on your list and if you have not read the rest of the series don't miss out because they are all GREAT books!!!
I felt a connection to Lily from the beginning. I have always felt inadequate and to see the character overcome this obstacle was amazing. The way Nate goes after what he wants from Lily until she is convinced was a breath of fresh air. Thank you to SJ McCoy for another stellar book, I can't wait to read more.
I have been reading each book in the Summer Lake series over the past week. I have absolutely fell in love with each character and feel like part of the family. I am kind of bummed because I only have one more book left to read and it's Ben's story. I have been looking forward to this one but don't want the books to end!!
Ride Like You've Never Fallen by SJ McCoy.....Amazing book...This one is my favorite, but I think I say this every time I read one of SJ McCoy's books. I loved the story between Nate and Lily these two are perfect for each other. You need to read this one or any book by this fantastic author. SJ McCoy is one of my favorite authors she never disappoints in her story telling. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.
I started reading this series with the Summer Lake box set books 1-3)..... After I finished I kept readingthrough the series... Each story is its own standalone HEA, but then they ALL blend together and go SO well together. I've read through them all-(not just this series!), you will do the same!! I CANNOT wait for SJ's next book!!!
I am in love with this book! I have read all the Summer Lake books up to this one and as much as I have loved all of them, I have yet to write a review. I had to write a review for this one. Michael and Megan were my favorite followed closely with Missy and Dan... until now Nate and Lily just took the top of the list for me. I can relate to them both so well and I think that's why it is so far my favorite. I am very much looking forward to Ben's story next but as great as I know it'll be, I don't think it will top Nate and Lily for me. The only thing I wish Nate and Lily's story had more of was the intimate parts. As much as the first time affected them both I wish there was a few more of those moments for them. I hope we get to see them tie the knot!
